Why do people rush through life? Why do they constantly worry about the future and think about the past and never seem to enjoy the present. There’s no need to run away from all the worries of now, that’s what life is about. Learning from your mistakes and messing up. It’s about learning to accept yourself and be happy. It’s about figuring out who you are and what you like or don’t like. It’s about finding new hobbies and re-discovering old ones. It’s about meeting new people and listening to new music.

Life is not a set of directions that everyone has to conform to, there are no instructions. You don’t have to have been kissed at a certain age or dated a bunch of people before you even get to university or college. You don’t have to get your driver’s license at 16. You don’t have to get a job you don’t like just for the money and experience. You don’t have to live by society’s rulebook. You have the right to say “no” anytime you want.

Don’t conform to please others, to please the often narrow-minded individuals. Please yourself.  Wear that amazing outfit that you look great in and don’t worry what others think. Learn something new, and be proud of everything that you’ve accomplished. Don’t hide away, and think “it will be better when I’m older”, make it better now.

Learn. Be creative. Be happy. Don’t forget to smile. Thank those that are there for you, and those that have helped you become who you are. But also remember to breathe. Breathe and relax and enjoy your own company. Don’t let life pass you by, but also don’t forget to silence yourself and cherish what is in front of you. Cherish yourself, and the people you love, the time spent with them and the time not spent with them.

Live your life the way you want to, and not the way someone else wants you to.
