#Inspiration- August

Another Month of Summer already gone. Now take some time to appreciate all the happy things that have happened this month, and then prepare yourself for the next….

  1. Wardrobe Revamp

After a few weeks of planning, I finally had some money to start purchasing some new items for my wardrobe. I mentioned this in my last post, about the INTO-MIND blog and how she outlines everything you need to figure out your style and start creating a wardrobe you’ll love.

What I love most about doing this is seeing everything start to come together. Seeing all the new outfits I can get out of a piece of clothing and just thinking about how this is so me, and I know that I’ll feel confident in these clothes.

10 Inspiring Youtubers and Bloggers You’ll Love

31. YT Bloggers.jpg

I have been following a lot of blogs and channels lately and so I thought I’d share some of the inspiration I’ve been collecting with you. First up: Youtubers.

  1. Light by Coco

LightbyCoco Channel

I had found Coco’s videos a while ago, but had never watched them on a regular basis. And about a month ago, I went back and watched like all of her Capsule Wardrobe videos. She focuses on minimalism and keeping everything clean and clutter-free and that is something I’m really trying to do right now, so she really inspired me to do that and live a simpler life.

Technology De-Clutter and Tips

30. Tech Organize.jpg

To continue on to last week’s post, I also looked into organizing my technology. And this is for a few reasons, 1) I’ve been looking into minimalism and just generally wanting to de-clutter and have less stuff, 2) my phone started to be so overcrowded with memos and apps and 3) my computer files are a mess!

Over the past month or so I’ve been reading a lot of new blogs and watching some new YouTuber’s and they’re mainly centered around Minimalism and living more simply.

Organization Update + A New Planner

Ok so before I start this post, I will point out it is a Saturday and I know I don’t usually post on Saturday’s, but I just have so much I want to share right now. So I thought I’d try to post two times a week (Thursday and Saturday) plus the Quote of the Week on Monday’s.

Ok now that that’s all cleared up, why don’t we just jump into today’s post….

Do you ever stop and realize an entire month of summer is already gone and you haven’t done anything remotely productive. Because this is how I felt a few weeks ago. Suddenly it was August 1st and my “Summer Goals” turned into August’s “Monthly Goals”. Now keep in mind I have never had to deal with not knowing what to do. Summer used to last two months and then I’d go back to school, but’s that’s not happening this year and so I needed to come up with some sort of plan to get the things I want to do, actually finished and completed.

Joining Pottermore

Today I wanted to talk about Harry Potter, especially with the new movie coming out in November, and I will admit I have not read the books; however I do plan to at some point, so don’t be too mad at me for seeing all the movies and not reading any of the books.

Character Development

A while ago I did a post about Creating Characters and then it had come to my attention that another important thing about writing characters is how they are going to develop. So, once you’ve created a character the next step is figuring out how they are going to develop. And the way I plan out anything is by first asking a bunch of questions, even simple ones. For example, will this character develop positively or negatively? Once that’s decided it’s a bit easier to decide how events will affect this character.

The goal of character development in my view, and I am by no means a professional writer, is to have them learn a lesson, they themselves get something out of the story you’re writing. If you get through an entire novel and a character has stayed the exact same, then it becomes boring. And developing a character negatively is just as interesting as developing one positively because in real life people can make bad choices and they can start to believe in something and choose the “wrong side”. But that’s ok, the story doesn’t have to perfect, but I think it has be real to a certain degree. The characters have to be believable and therefore can either change positively or negatively.
